Well...it started out shitty. We got there TWO HOURS early in order to get a good "seat" (General Admissions has no seats of course, but we wanted a spot near the stage).
Well there was already lines forming...and the doors wouldn't open until an hour before the concert...so we stood outside in freezing weather for an hour...by the time we were inside to be patted down and our bags inspected, I couldn't feel my fingertips...and that's NOT an exaggeration...
Then we went in and got our place, not a bad one either. In the center pretty close to the stage...and people tried to shove past, but we held our ground!
We stood there for another hour...I was so irritated with people bumping into me!! I wanted to claw out someone's eyes...
Then the intro band started up - Rise Against. That's when things got....pushy.
The crowd behind us surged forward and the crowd in front of us pushed back. We were lucky not to fall!! As it was I hurt my left hip, damn people.
So Margaret and I moved away from the center off to one side where they weren't pushing us, but we were still pretty close to the stage. We could SEE THEIR FACES! Woo! After that it was pretty good. The occasional drunk or brawling or opportunist people bumped into us, but didn't threaten to knock us down like before.
My leg muscles were so freakin sore from being jostled and then from jumping up and down...and of course for standing for...oh let's see...5 hours...but it still rocked so hard!
I wish I could go back to the Nickelback concert and be a GA person this time, it's so much better down in General Admissions!!!
